This post was going to be a simple look at the question ‘How are wooden golf tees made?’

Following on from my recent post that looked at the question How are golf balls made?

But as I did my usual ‘digging around’ to find interesting things to write about

I found out something about the history of the wooden golf tee that I had no idea existed

Before I get to what that was, it’s important to explain just what it was that golfers used

To tee up their golf balls before starting a hole for the first 400 years or so of the game

Which were little mounds made of mud or sand by either the player or their caddie
