I discussed the fact that being told to do exactly that while hitting a golf shot

Is one of the most common pieces of advice given to golfers while playing the game

Usually it’s given in an effort ‘to stop a slice’ and according to the golfers who suggest it

It should instantly change the result of a golfers shot from a big banana slice

To a dead straight shot – without doing anything else

If you could add a deep and sustained belly laugh at this point – that will help!

In reality though it’s just another one of the five ‘golden rules’

That a lot of golfers think are helpful but in practice they are collectively responsible
