In the post Get out of your own way

I talked about my experience while assisting a golfer to choose a new driver

Which he was hoping would give him a bit more distance off the tee

Trouble was as he was trying out all the different ones we had out there that day

His head was so full of thoughts about how he should hit the ball

That it was getting in the way of him actually hitting the ball

Which meant that none of those drivers were working for a start

You may recall that when I asked him to stop focusing on those ideas

Close his eyes and do a few practice swings

In order to ‘reset him’ and clear his brain of the garbage
